Trudeau Liberals continue to lose approval from Canadians. Here's why.
The latest Nanos Research public opinion polling of Canadians is not good news for the Trudeau Liberals. That may not come as a surprise to many of us. This government has been losing altitude for some time now, but the descent seems to be accelerating and the reason why is noteworthy.
The Nanos poll shows the Liberals trailing the Conservatives by about 7 points and the focus of voter discontent seems to be the continuing revelation of foreign interference in Canadian politics. That’s interesting because the focus of past polling seemed to focus understandably on our affordability woes and even though that problem haunts too many Canadians, there seemed to be a realization that the economic crisis is caused, in part, by global issues and not totally the fault of the federal government.
But, foreign interference is another story. The scant information that we’ve been able to gather so far paints a troubling picture of a government that was warned time and time again about this threat and seemed to ignore the advice of our security experts. And, here’s Breaking News for this government; Canadians are mad as hell that our government was asleep at the wheel while hostile foreign governments invaded our political process.
Our government is supposed to stand on guard for us; it says so right in our national anthem. They’ve failed to do that and Canadians won’t forget that for a long, long time.
